Friday, Dec. 17
Holliston Town Hall
Our first big rehearsal (some soloists
rehearsed at Joanne's earlier in the week)! We got to know each
other and rehearsed our full cast numbers. Here's a picture of our
"parade" for our first big number!
We have 24 cast members from
Holliston, Medway, Millis, Ashland, Milford, Southborough and Northboro!
Our on-stage student staff of 5
and tech crew of 3 brings our total child-teen numbers up to 32!
What a fun night! Everyone
is so excited to be in the show!
Wed., Dec. 29
Prana Center and Joanne's piano studio!
Roberta started the day
with cast and staff at her yoga studio with breathing techniques, movement, relaxation and of
course yoga! Singing rehearsal at Joanne's was nice and cozy!
Great acoustics!
We've starting working on costumes!
Thurs., Dec. 20
Prana Center
Roberta, Joe and Sarah worked with Fanny
Brice, Charlie Brown, our young monologuists and the three "Roberta"
contenders. We can't wait to see them up on the Town Hall stage!
Friday, Jan. 7
Prana Center
What a
fun, busy night! Roberta worked with Comedy Tonight soloists and
practiced her own accompanying so she can sub for Joanne at the Sneak
Preview at Holliston's Library Jan. 25! Laura Steele joined us
as special Monologue Coach. Becky taught the percussionists their
rhythms and choreographed our final number. Joe and Sarah worked
with our "King" singers and fortunately Joanne was firmly behind the
keyboard. Everyone is doing a great job!
Sunday, Jan. 9
Prana Center
A
long, packed day of rehearsals! Those who stuck it out to the end
floated off in a relaxing guided meditation led by Roberta. Earlier,
Joe and Sarah led breathing exercises and worked with their "King" kids.
Becky choreographed "Body Electric." (Dancers in photo -- the camera wasn't
cooperating in getting them in mid-leap!) Every song is now blocked or
choreographed and everyone knows their songs! On to Town Hall on
Friday!
Friday,
Jan. 14
Town Hall
It was great to be back in Town Hall! Started with a
"Snowball Dance," then used the full stage for our big production numbers!
Jonah joined us with his beautiful violin, and Nancy took some great
photos! The percussion sounds terrific! (more photos, home
page!)
Sunday, Jan. 16
Prana Center
Worked
on our storybook character monologues and put them all together for a
great scene! Sarah and Erik led improv games downstairs while
soloists rehearsed their numbers upstairs! Didn't take any photos so
here's another one from Friday!
Friday,
Jan. 21
Town Hall
A night of fun and hard work for
the full cast and crew with two full run-throughs of Act One!
Terrific focus and concentration from cast and crew -- rehearsing
transitions is always a challenge! Great job, everyone!
There's Becky in the striped shirt at right teaching a dance.
Sunday, Jan. 23
-- blizzard! No rehearsal.
Monday, Jan. 24
Joanne's house & Roberta's house
A few soloists rehearsed with Joanne on the
snow day, and Nina kindly came to Roberta's house to help her practice for
tomorrow's Sneak Preview at the library. Thanks!
Tuesday, Jan.
25
Holliston Public Library
The
cast helped our "guest accompanist" (Roberta) get over her pre-show
jitters with some great encouragement that sounded very familiar! So
we breathed and everyone did a great job, thanks! Nina and Sara stepped in
as "guest soloists" and were terrific. So was everyone! The children in
the audience were very attentive to all the monologues, which was
wonderful to see. Here are photos taken by Nancy (Joseph's mom) --
right and below.
Sunday, Jan. 30, Monday, Jan. 31 &
Wednesday, Feb. 2
Holliston Town Hall -- Tech Week!
Roberta had some computer problems so the diary is out
of date! Of course we also had a rehearsal last Friday, Jan. 28.
Everyone is working so hard and doing a great job! Lots of photos
being taken by Nancy. Tech crew Drew, Dan and Phil joined us and the
lights look wonderful. Here's our full cast photo!
Thursday, Feb. 3 Dress Rehearsal

What
a thrill to see all our "Kids" perform so beautifully. We had
