"I just wanted to congratulate you on 1000 Cranes. It was more than a play, it truly was a total EXPERIENCE!! I loved it. you chose a very talented cast and they put so much life into such a poignant and important story!" -Sheryl Altman, Southboro

If you haven't gotten to see Roberta's Prana production of A Thousand Cranes, don't miss it tomorrow night. I just got back from tonight's show, and it was incredibly moving. You may think you know the story of Hiroshima, but until you see these five young actors and actresses portray the life of one affected 12 year old girl, you haven't really felt the story with your heart. Every seat was taken tonight and some of the audience had to stand, so get there before seven if you plan to go.
-Ceci LeBeau, Holliston

This beautiful play is based on the haunting true story of Sadako Sasaki.   Sadako is lively and athletic - the star of her school's running team, a regular kid!  But then she starts getting dizzy.  Doctors diagnose leukemia, the "atom bomb disease."  With the help of her friend Kenji, Sadako sets to work folding paper cranes. Japanese legend says that if a sick person folds one thousand cranes, the gods will grant her wish and make her healthy again.

Now memorialized in the Hiroshima Peace Garden, Sadako's bravery has inspired many to work for the end of nuclear weapons and world peace.

Proceeds from this play will be donated to the Hiroshima Peace Museum's education programs for peace.

Just a few of the thousands of cranes our cast and crew folded!  Plus, Holliston middle school teacher Heather Hebert donated thousands more from her students, and she came in to give us a folding demonstration!
