Camp Digest July 19
We spent the first morning "getting to know
you" across all four camp groups, with games, trust exercises, yoga and
more! Lunchtime outside with tie-dying, Yoga Tag and Sculpture
Garden games. Afternoon campers had fun dressing up out of our costume
trunks and putting on skits. Laura led Flock Dancing, and Roberta ended
the day with a guided relaxation to exercise the imagination and rest the
bones and muscles!

Roberta started the day with Yoga warm-ups
and breathing exercises. Laura led a How to Audition Workshop. Lots of
outdoor fun, including face painting, games and more. Guest Teacher
Andrea O'Leary (Prana's designer and mom of camper Abbi) came in to lead a
special crafts activity. After lunch, we relaxed with Partner
Yoga Massages followed by Auditions in Laura's Group and singing It's A
Hard Knock Life with Roberta, Sarah and Alisha's groups!

Roberta led an hour of movement and music to
start the day, followed by camper's choice of arts/crafts, yoga, acting
games or hula hoop games! Guest Teacher Dawn Anderson (who will be
teaching a Shakespeare class at the Prana Center this fall) taught two
Open Air Acting Workshops mid-day. Laura's group started rehearsing The
Emperor's New Clothes and Roberta held auditions for Annie! Every
child received a part that was perfect for him or her! Alisha, Sarah and Dan's
groups did face/body painting (results below!).

Prana Center Children's Yoga Teacher Rachel Ruel was our special guest
teacher for our "Under the Sea" full camp morning activity.
Campers enjoyed aerobic dancing, sea creature partnering and games, and
more. Octopus Tag was lots of fun! Roberta choreographed It's a Hard Knock Life with guest accompanist Ceci LeBeau
and Laura's group was hard at work on The Emperor's New Clothes.

We said good-bye to our one-week campers and CIT Dan today with group OMs
and brief presentations for a few parents who wanted a "sneak peek" at
what we've been doing plus parents of our one-week campers! Morning
campers showed off their singing, movement and yoga skills.
Afternoon campers sang It's a Hard Knock Life and did a scene from the
play Annie. Everyone was blown away with how great everyone did after just
three days of practice (auditions were Wednesday!) Roberta led yoga and
meditation and Laura's group did a run-through of the Emperor's New
Clothes. We had a nice leisurely lunch outside with free time and
lots of Frisbees!

We met lots of new campers today and
new CITs (Counselors in Training) Phil, Sam and Katie! Morning
campers made paper bag puppets with Karen and played "getting to know you"
games indoors and out. Sarah's group had a special yoga session with Diane
Burstein, who is teaching Reading Comes Alive with Yoga at the Prana
Center this fall. In the afternoon, we broke out the costume trunks
and did skits improvised from our outfits. To end the day on a relaxing
note, Roberta taught a "real" adult yoga class to older campers (and
younger ones who chose to attend).

The full camp got off to a "swinging" start today as Roberta taught the
jitterbug and got us all "In the Mood" for musical theatre dancing! New
campers auditioned for "Annie" and all enjoyed lunch and games outdoors
and plenty of play practice! Guest accompanist Ceci LeBeau joined us
for singing practice. Rocket balloons, face painting and tie-dying
were lots of fun!

Sarah's group made puppet theatres with special guest teacher Melissa
Bassett, a teacher at Holliston Middle School and parent of camper Anna!
Tomorrow they'll make the puppets and put on a show for the rest of the
camp! Diane came back for yoga with Alisha, Roberta and Laura's groups ...
Jen started the day with her popular singing warm-ups ... Roberta's
singers did a "costume parade." We ended the day with a session
on "conscious listening" led by Roberta (for teens and pre-teens who chose
it) and Hula Hoop games with Sarah and Alisha for everyone else!

Campers learned how to use breathing, mantras and slow
walking to clear their minds and calm down, during Roberta's one-hour
meditation workshop this morning. The littlest campers finished their
puppets and did a show for the rest of the camp! After lunch, we did
run-throughs for our presentations tomorrow! Can't wait!

Wow! Everyone was fabulous in our final
presentations! We said our goodbyes and we hope to see you all again soon!
Please check out our fall
