Be a Centered Mama-to-Be

Prenatal Yoga
classes are specially modified for women in any stage of pregnancy. Yoga is
a wonderful way to stay fit and relaxed during pregnancy, and increases energy and vitality. You will learn how to
breathe more fully, and prepare your body and mind for childbirth.
Classes include time for sharing with the other women in the class.
Classes are held at the Prana Center, 21 Charles St., Holliston, MA,
which is located just minutes from surrounding towns, including Ashland,
Framingham, Hopkinton, Sherborn, Medway, Millis, Medway, Medfield, Milford and Natick.

Courtney, a new mom, writes:
Every pregnant woman ponders how she will welcome the ultimate challenge of
childbirth. Epidural? Morphine? Lamaze? For me, the secret was yoga.
I practiced yoga all throughout my pregnancy. The stretching, breathing and
centering helped me stay limber, strong and calm through the nine months.
On May 4, yoga also helped me during labor. I delivered my baby Camilla
naturally with the help of a good midwife - and yoga! I found my drishti
(focal point) and used my breath to manage pain. It was amazing how focusing
and breathing (as I'd learned in yoga) helped me through some very powerful
contractions. As a new mom, I continue to benefit from yoga to manage
stress and gently/safely get back into "skinny jeans" shape.

Prenatal Yoga is Saturdays 10-11
am at the Prana Center. Drop-ins welcome or use your Prana class card
($125 for 10 classes or $250 for 25 - use for any class!) Purchase
online using the link on the home page or using check/cash when you come to
class.
The entrance is at
21G Charles St., Holliston,
behind the Public Library. There is plenty of free parking.

I’ve been taking Yoga for
the past few years with Roberta and grown to relish that quiet
meditative state she has created for us in her studio. For that brief
time, I am transported to a place when I am at peace with not only
myself but the world. Now that I am pregnant with my second child it has
become my refuge, the only place where I can feel totally connected to
my body, my mind and my new baby. I am able to fully concentrate on the
other women and share my thoughts, hopes and fears with people in the
same situation as me. We have formed a great bond and I eagerly
