The whole camp at Holliston Middle School, Aug. 19, 2005.  Thanks for another great year, everyone!

Monday, August 8

First day - So many great reunions and meeting new campers!  Our accompanist Joanne Hines, a popular Holliston piano teacher, spent the morning teaching our show songs to all the groups.  Each group also enjoyed tie-dying, acting games, dress-up and skits, and outdoor lunch and activities!  Roberta taught yoga to red, green and purple.  A full camp guided relaxation by Roberta ended the day.

Tuesday, August 9

Lots of fun with Laura at the How to Audition work for blue, yellow, green, purple and red groups.  Orange and campers who took the workshop in July made " Yoga Soup" and learned to pass a bell with their toes with Roberta! (How often do you hear that?!)  Blue and orange picked parts and practiced together and with the Tie-Dye group.  Featured dancers for Bye Bye Birdie practiced with Joanne and Roberta.  All the groups introduced their plays!

Wednesday, August 10

All shows are cast!  We think everyone got a great part and is going to be terrific!  Roberta blocked Do a Dear today with Blue and Orange and they learned that putting on a play isn't as easy as it looks! They did a fantastic job learning where to stand or sit, when to move, and how to do it all so it looks natural and easy.  Dayna costumed the Green and Purple group and wait until you see those Pirates!  Our special guest teacher Tera Binding, an adult Prana Center student recently certified in the YogaKids program, taught two yoga classes (Blue/Orange and Yellow/Pink).  Roberta keeps adding more dance moves to Bye Bye Birdie and Red and Tie-Dye and the purple boys are up to the challenge.  Lots of water fun & games with Sarah & Phil.

Thursday, August 11

Roberta and Joanne cast the solos and duets for our Mary Poppins and Pirates of Penzance groups (Yellow, Pink, Green and Purple). Everyone who tried out got a part. We gave campers feedback on their projection and volume.  Speaking of projection, special guest teacher Sharon Broadley-Martin, a Berklee School of Music Professor (who also happens to be mom of two campers, not to mention the model in Prana's "Breathe" yoga video!) taught voice projection techniques to Green, Purple and Tie-Die.  Roberta ran a meditation workshop for Pink, Green, Purple, Red & TD.  Laura, Laura & Drew solved some tricky choreography problems for our Bye Bye Birdie featured dancers!  And Phil taught the Red Group how to fall!  Sarah, Emily & Dan got soaking wet as usual!  Dayna finished costuming all the groups -- there are nearly 100 costumes in all!

Friday, August 12

Twenty campers went through rigorous singing and dancing auditions for our full camp song with Roberta, Joanne, Sarah and Suzanne! They did a great job and all received a part and got feedback on their audition.  Other campers chose one of four fun workshops: Improv with Laura, Laura & Emma, Acting Games with Julia, Phil & Leah, Hula Hoop Games with Alisha, Dan & Ben, or Freeze Tag & Races with Emily, Nicole & Renee! After lunch, the full camp practiced the song together -- great job everyone! It's been a great week - see you Monday!

Monday, August 15

A great rehearsal with our featured dancers for There's No Business! (picture, left), as well as soloists.  We worked on choreography for Supercali. & With Catlike Tread. Renee & Suzanne taught yoga to blue, orange and pink.  We welcomed back counselor Joe Sirianni (from last year), who is joining us for the week. Joe is filling in with the pink group, as well as helping with the musical numbers. Laura & Laura helped the Red group (and purple boys) perfect "The Jerk" (it has to be seen to be believed!)  Just two more days at the church; then we move to the middle school!

Tuesday, August 16

We ran through the entire show and everyone did a great job!  Green, Purple and TD took With Catlike Tread up to a whole new level!  We worked on projection, enunciation, facing the audience (!) and remembering to stay in character even when you are not talking (much harder than it looks!)  Here's a photo of a few of our Mary Poppins cast!

Wednesday, August 17

Our last day at the church! We had a great run-through in the morning with Joanne. After a beautiful lunch in the leafy backyard of the church, Roberta spent most of the afternoon with Yellow and Pink and Laura worked with Green -- tweaking and improving.  Everyone is doing great!  At the end of the day, Purple and some of Orange decided to get soaking wet while the rest of the camp enjoyed a guided relaxation/visualization led by Roberta.  Here's Joanne at the piano!

Thursday, August 18

Moving into the middle school!  Dress rehearsals all day (breaking for lunch!).  Everyone is doing great!  Here are some of the Pirates!  We had fun doing yoga at the Prana Center this morning.

Friday, August 19
